Vicky Lentz is a contemporary New Brunswick artist situated in the northwest region of the province working in a variety of mediums.
Born in Bancroft, Ontario and growing up in a rural community near Perth, Ontario, Vicky enjoyed a close relationship with her natural surroundings in the farmlands of the Ottawa Valley. She graduated from the University of Toronto from studies in archaeology and ecology to work for several seasons in the beautiful provincial parks and conservation areas of Ontario before becoming a member of the RCMP.
As a police constable, Vicky was stationed in the city of Edmundston, NB. She presently lives and maintains a studio in a quiet forest setting close to the city. She left her law enforcement career to raise her family and opened a stained glass studio which she operated for several years while developing her skills and interest in painting.
The artist has served on many arts-related committees and boards and is an active supporter of the arts. She is a sought-after teacher of the arts working in the provinces of Ontario, Quebec and New Brunswick.
Starting out her painting career as a landscape painter she quickly established herself for her unique and colourful interpretations of the rural back roads and vistas. Her work has been commissioned and extensively shown in group and solo exhibitions.
She now works in series, employing a variety of techniques and mediums, exploring her connection and interest in the natural environment in an open-ended, process-oriented creative research.
